Saskia makes a blog

Hi, my name is Saskia ("Hi, Saskia!") and I am a crafter and craft-material hoarder. As I've decided that 2018 is the year for Project Finish Un-Finished Objects (or #projectFUFO for short), this barely-started blog is one of the items on the list.

Most of us crafters will be familiar with both the "UFO" (un-finished object) and the "stash" (craft material supply). #projectFUFO is going to try and help both these things. It's beautiful in its simplicity: every month of 2018 I will either finish a pre-2018 project, or do a project that will result in a reduction of my craft stash (I'll allow myself to buy things I need to finish it, but most things should be from the existing supplies). As the stash is largely material bought for specific projects that I either lost interest in or ran out of time for, this is basically the same thing.

Exhibit A: The stash. Fabric lives in the wardrobes, the cubes have other things.

Projects I've got materials for include (in no particular order):
  • Finishing the Jane Austen bonnet
  • Assorted baby presents (not currently elaborated on)
  • Jane Austen-era underwear
  • Decorating the Jane Austen dress
  • The Tanzanian fabric dress
  • The other Tanzanian fabric dress
  • Assorted jewellery
This will be the place for me to put pictures and explanations of all the stuff I make, accessible to people without facebook. It may feature the occasional tutorial or what-would-I-do-differently, but some posts will be shameless showing off. There may also be baked goods.

There will be no schedule to the posts, as they will be added when I've finished stuff. And as I usually do that to tight deadlines, and/or the result is a surprise to someone, the post is likely to be a lot later. Also, I might add some info on long-finished projects if I feel like taking pictures.
